Printable Tow Request and Handoff Worksheet

Rapid Towing ·

Keep the pickup, delivery and service confirmation in one place. This worksheet helps you give dispatch a clear request and keep track of changes; it is not a booking, an estimate or permission to move a vehicle.

Use your browser’s Print option for a paper copy. This page does not submit or save worksheet entries.

Describe the request before discussing the schedule

Write the vehicle’s year, make and model, the condition you know about, and where it is located. Distinguish «will not start» from «cannot roll» or «steering condition unknown». Do not move, test or dismantle the vehicle just to fill a blank. Report uncertainty rather than choosing a diagnosis.

Keep pickup and delivery in separate boxes. A repair shop’s mailing address may not identify its vehicle receiving entrance. A building name may not identify the garage level or access gate. Confirm those details with the person responsible for each location.

Three confirmations that come from different people

Dispatch confirms availability, equipment suitability, the estimate and the service arrangement. The pickup contact confirms access and release requirements. The receiving contact confirms whether and where the vehicle can be delivered. Do not treat a response from one as approval from all three.

For a vehicle at home, the pickup contact may be you. At a hotel, garage, business or repair shop, another person may control access. Ask who actually handles the vehicle rather than relying only on a general reception number.

A sample request with separate locations

I am asking about a tow for [vehicle]. It is at [pickup location and entrance]. Its known condition is [description], and [keys/access details]. The proposed destination is [delivery location]. The receiving contact has [confirmed or not yet confirmed] acceptance. Please confirm availability, suitable equipment and the estimate before I authorize service.

Record changes without starting a second request

If the destination changes or the vehicle starts again, contact the same dispatcher with the update. State which earlier detail it replaces and ask for acknowledgement. A change may affect equipment, timing or the estimate; do not assume the original arrangement still applies unchanged.

Give any separate passenger transportation plans their own note. Do not assume that people, pets, loose cargo or additional vehicles are included in a tow. Ask before relying on an arrangement that has not been confirmed.

At handoff, check the essentials

Review the vehicle identity, pickup and destination details with the person handling the service. Keep the confirmed instructions and any receipt together. The worksheet is your coordination aid, not a substitute for the provider’s documents or the property’s release requirements.

Use the local service pages below to review access situations in your area. Exact arrival time, equipment and service acceptance must come from dispatch for your particular request.
