Clarifying the Scope of a Towing Request Before Dispatch
A request can include several different expectations: collecting the vehicle, transporting it and leaving it with a receiving party. Before authorizing a tow, ask dispatch to explain which parts are included in the proposed service and which still need confirmation.
Describe the complete request
Provide the actual pickup position, vehicle condition and proposed destination. Mention any expectation about extra stops, handling items or waiting for someone. Do not assume a short distance makes every additional task part of the estimate. Ask how unresolved access or delivery details affect whether the request can be confirmed.
Keep a short written summary
Record the agreed pickup, destination, contact and remaining questions. If a detail changes, tell dispatch before relying on the earlier estimate. A request submitted through a website is not proof that a truck has been assigned. Ask for confirmation of availability and the next step, and distinguish any preferred timing from the timing actually agreed.
