When a Tire Blowout Requires Towing in Miami
A tire blowout can damage more than the tire. Wheel, suspension or body damage may make the vehicle unsafe to drive even when a spare is available.
Move away from traffic when possible
Hold the steering wheel steadily, reduce speed gradually and move to a safer position only when the vehicle remains controllable. Avoid sudden braking. Call 911 if the car is blocking traffic or anyone is injured.
Inspect only from a safe location
Do not stand beside fast-moving traffic or crawl under the vehicle. From a safe position, note a bent wheel, damaged fender, loose body panel or fluid leak. A tire change may not be appropriate when additional damage is visible.
Give dispatch complete details
Share the road, direction, nearest exit, vehicle model and affected wheel. Explain whether a spare exists, the car rolls and steering feels damaged. The dispatcher can then discuss roadside service or transport.
