Car Stuck in Park in Miami: What to Tell Towing Dispatch
· Rapid Towing
Explain a car that will not shift out of Park before requesting a Miami tow. Share access, keys and known symptoms so dispatch can assess the pickup.
Describe the symptom without guessing the repair
A car that will not come out of Park needs a clearer description than “it does not run.” Tell Rapid Towing the year, make and model, whether the engine starts and what the gear display shows. Explain whether the selector is physically stuck or moves without a confirmed gear change. If you have not checked a detail, say it is unknown. A dead screen, missing key and a confirmed transmission problem are different observations.
Do not force the selector to prepare for a tow
Do not force a lever, bypass an interlock or release a parking brake to make the vehicle move for a photograph. A car may become free-rolling if its restraint is released. Leave movement and loading decisions to the operator using the instructions for the exact vehicle. If the car is on a slope, in traffic or in an unsafe position, explain that immediately and avoid standing in its possible path.
Vehicle-specific instructions matter
A general online video is not a substitute for the correct owner’s manual. As one model-specific example, Tesla’s Model 3 transporter instructions distinguish loading with Tow Mode from situations where it is unavailable. That example is not a procedure for other vehicles. Provide your manual or model details to the operator rather than trying another model’s release method yourself.

Explain the space around the car
For a Hialeah driveway or Kendall parking area, share the exact pickup location, nearby obstacles, garage restrictions and whether another vehicle blocks the approach. Tell dispatch whether you have working keys and what is known about steering and wheel movement. Take a wide photo only from a safe location; do not push or reposition the car to improve the view.
Confirm a pickup plan before assuming a truck is assigned
Ask dispatch to confirm whether it can handle the described condition, what further information is needed, the estimated arrival window and the quoted service scope. Provide the destination and confirm that someone can receive the car. Do not promise the vehicle will roll normally on arrival if that has not been established. Call 305-457-0817 when the situation changes before the operator reaches you.
