Requesting a Tow for an Electric or Hybrid Vehicle in Miami
Give dispatch the exact vehicle, power and access details so the operator can assess an electric or hybrid towing request before assigning equipment.
Identify the exact vehicle and version
Begin with the year, make and model, and say whether the vehicle is fully electric, hybrid or plug-in hybrid. Include the drivetrain or trim if known; leave uncertain details as questions. A familiar badge or a photo of a similar car does not identify the correct transport procedure. Tell dispatch about modifications, low clearance or unusual equipment, and ask whether the requested vehicle and location can be accommodated.
Describe power, keys and wheel movement separately
Explain what you last observed: whether the dashboard operates, which keys or access devices are available and whether the car is known to roll or steer. A charging problem, an unavailable screen and a locked wheel are different facts. Say when something has not been checked. Do not repeatedly power up, push or attempt to shift a damaged vehicle simply to answer a dispatch question.
Have the model-specific transport instructions available
The operator needs the manufacturer’s instructions for the actual vehicle. For example, Tesla publishes a separate Instructions for Transporters section for Model 3; those directions should not be assumed to apply to every electric car. Share the relevant manual or ask dispatch how to provide it. Let the operator determine the appropriate equipment and loading method. This guide does not provide a universal sequence for releasing brakes, activating transport modes or attaching recovery equipment.
Explain the parking and charging situation
State whether the car is in an open lot, a low garage, a restricted property or another location with limited truck access. Tell dispatch if a charging cable is connected and whether you can follow the vehicle and charging provider’s normal release instructions. Explain a cable that will not release instead of forcing it. Give the vehicle’s parking position and authorized entry contact privately so the operator can assess access before arrival.
Report damage before equipment is assigned
Tell dispatch about a collision, visible underside damage or a vehicle exposed to water, without reaching beneath it to inspect. Keep clear of damaged electrical components and do not open or handle a high-voltage battery. An urgent hazard belongs with emergency responders rather than a routine loading plan. Describe what can be observed from a safe position and let the responsible professionals decide whether ordinary towing can proceed.
Confirm the receiving location
Give the destination address and ask the receiving facility whether it accepts this vehicle in its reported condition. A generic repair shop name does not establish opening hours, access or acceptance. If the vehicle manufacturer or another provider is already arranging assistance, tell dispatch before authorizing an additional truck. Ask which service is responsible for the current request so the same car is not assigned conflicting collection plans.
Get one complete dispatch confirmation
Ask Rapid Towing to confirm whether the request is accepted, which equipment is proposed, the price and payment arrangement, and the current arrival estimate. Update dispatch if the car moves, power availability changes or the receiving facility gives different instructions. Call (305) 457-0817 with the exact location and vehicle details. Availability and equipment are confirmed for the individual request; an inquiry alone is not a booked tow.
